Accuracy and response

The record must change when the facts change.

Officers, agencies, attorneys, affected people, and members of the public may submit a documented correction, updated outcome, identity concern, or response.

Correction priorities

  1. Wrong person or agency identification
  2. Dismissed, reversed, vacated, or removed outcomes
  3. Missing exoneration or official response
  4. Source documents that were altered, sealed, or withdrawn
  5. Private information that should have been redacted

Transparent updates

Material corrections will identify what changed and when. A documented reversal or removal will not be hidden in fine print. Frivolous demands to remove accurate public records will be logged but will not rewrite the source.
